To ensure this flow rate, be sure to backwash the pre-filter every 2-3 Liters with clean water and clean, disassemble and dry after every trip. How do you store the filter if unused? What is the shelf life? If new and unused, sealed in their original packaging, the Survivor Filter PRO can be stored for a lifetime. Once used simply clean and disassemble, let the components and the filter air dry and store again in a low humid environment. Is it ready to use from the box? Yes, just pump 2 liters through before drinking to clear the system with tap water. What kind of water sources can you use this for? Fresh water only, no salt water, can be used on any fresh water lake river or stream. What do I do if I have an issue?
